Ally and Asim planned an intimate winter elopement at Cathedral Park, under the iconic St. John’s Bridge. It rained throughout the day which was authentically perfect for the Pacific Northwest and a winter wedding in Portland. I loved how Ally and Asim embraced the day as it unfolded, sharing an umbrella as they walked in the rain and showing off their stunning wedding attire. Ally’s purple saree added such a beautiful pop of color against the crisp winter scene.
When Ally first reached out to me about her wedding plans, she shared that photos were important not only to document the day, but to share them with their families. Asim’s family is in Pakistan and Ally’s family is in Fiji, so they were unable to travel to Portland for the elopement. The couple wanted to share photos and relive the day with them virtually. They are the sweetest souls and it was a privilege to tell their love story.
As a Portland Elopement Photographer, a Cathedral Park elopement is special any time of year. The gothic suspension bridge is the tallest in Portland and spans across the Willamette River in the northern part of the city. The bridge provides a picturesque backdrop with its unique arches and soft hues, harmonizing with the forest greens of the west hills. Cathedral Park is an epic location for an elopement, wedding, or any photo session!
